Diversity & Inclusion in Insurance Awards

Diversity & Inclusion in Insurance Awards

It is a mantra that is being repeated more and more: That as a business you are only as good as the people you employ; and that you can best manage and fulfil your customer needs by recruiting a workforce that is as diverse and representative of the population you serve.

Insurance has for a long time being characterised a ‘grey, male and stale’, but times are changing. With insurers, brokers and all parts of the insurance supply chain making strides to consign this stereotype to history; and change the perception of a sector which remains so important to the economic outlook of the country.

With this in mind, Insurance Age and Insurance Post host the Diversity & Inclusion in Insurance Awards.

The event celebrates individuals who work in the insurance sector who have done the most to champion D&I awareness and issues within their organisation and wider afield in areas such as LGBT+ rights; mental health; disability rights; gender and race equality.

There are also organisational awards to celebrate the businesses that have made notable strides to empower staff to tackle D&I issues; carry out a progressive recruitment strategy; and to become a more flexible employer.

Each winner will be invited to film a 2 minute video to explain their winning entry and why it is important to them/wider industry. Each video will be published on www.postonline.co.uk & www.insuranceage.co.uk and distributed to our global audience of senior insurance professionals.

Insurance Post & Insurance Age’s editorial team will interview each winner to capture the full event coverage, which will then appear online in early 2020.

Each winner will be invited to the Insurance Post/Insurance Age offices 6 months after to give an update on their initiatives and how winning has made a difference.
