As editor, Stephanie is also heavily involved in the brand's events, and is instrumental on both the Rehabilitation First Awards, and the British Insurance Awards judging panels.

He has operational oversight of the group’s London broking businesses, Oxford Insurance Brokers, James Hampden International Insurance Brokers and MGB Insurance Brokers and wholly owned MGAs based in Switzerland and Dubai.

James has 27 years’ experience in the London insurance market, working for both brokers and MGAs. He held a number of senior positions at Arthur J. Gallagher International during a period of rapid growth from 2002 to 2009. He is a Chartered Insurance Broker, alumnus of the University of Leeds and has an MBA from Henley Business School.

Maureen Breslin

Maureen holds a BSc in Financial Information Systems from Trinity College, is a Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) and is a member of the Life Insurance Association.

Jo Causon

Jo is an experienced, passionate and forthright speaker on the critical nature of service and customer experience. She vividly highlights the link between employee engagement, customer service strategies and organisational performance.

Working across the public, private and voluntary sectors, Jo provides strategic advice to boardrooms to raise the standards of service across the UK, providing evidence of the connection between customer satisfaction and operational efficiency and profitability.

A regular media commentator and prominent keynote speaker, Jo features across national, broadcast and key trade media including the BBC News, The Ian King Show on Sky News, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The FT, Retail Gazette and The Intuitive Customer Podcast. She typically speaks at 40-50 external conferences per year, in addition to our own Annual Conference.

Jo joined The Institute as Chief Executive in 2009. Since then, she has driven membership growth by 150 percent and established the UK Customer Satisfaction Index as the country’s premier indicator of consumer satisfaction, providing organisations with an indicator of the return on their service strategy investment.

She brings a wealth of experience from the commercial sector, enabling her to put customer service at the heart of the boardroom agenda. She has extensive experience in the financial services sector, holding the position of non-executive director to Aegon UK’s independent governance committee and having previously spent more than 11 years working for organisations such as Aviva plc. She has also held director roles in brand and business consulting, policy development and research for City & Guilds and The Chartered Management Institute.

Working with politicians of all stripes, regulators and senior civil servants, Jo focuses on the impact that service has on the UK economy and productivity. She is a regularly asked to help shape policy and has been called to give evidence at the Public Administration Select Committee inquiry into complaints handling.

As secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Customer Service, The Institute raises awareness and understanding of customer service amongst parliamentarians, establishing an ongoing dialogue between Parliament, Government and with UK organisations across all sectors. Steve Collinson is the Head of the UK People Team, leading the People function across Zurich in the UK.

Steve has been with Zurich for over 30 years, in a career which has seen him drive and deliver major initiatives within HR, Communications, Finance and various customer operations, in both customer-facing and business-facing senior roles.

Before taking up the role of Head of the UK People Team, Steve was Head of Change and Internal Communications, where he embedded a refreshed focus on engaging employees in strategy, brand, business performance and change.

Steve works alongside the UK Executive team, shaping the employee value proposition and engagement initiatives to deliver Zurich's goal of being a great place to work. He has a particular focus on building diversity and brings leadership, passion and deep business experience to his role.

Charles Crawford

Charles joined Gallagher in early 2016 to lead the delivery of an extensive change programme in the UK, focused on the strategic and effective integration of businesses and the creation of a scalable platform after a period of acquisition-led growth.

He was appointed UK Operations Director in November of that year, to head up Gallagher’s continued investment in the governance and operating models of its UK businesses to maximise their operational effectiveness.

In 2019, Charles transitioned to the broader role of Chief Operations Officer having successfully driven through the major programme of transformational change and holds responsibility for technology, real estate, claims, digital, offshore, procurement, change delivery and markets.

Russell joined Davies in 2018 following the acquisition of Direct Group, and today he heads up Davies’ property claims division. Russell is a Chartered Insurance Practitioner with more than 28 years’ experience in the Insurance and Loss Adjusting arena. He originally trained as a building surveyor and initially commenced his career in insurance in loss adjusting in 1990. Whilst practising as an Adjuster he held roles in Subsidence, Personal and Commercial Lines Claims handling and launched the first UK Loss Adjuster Led Building Repair Network in 2001. Russell joined Direct Group in 2012 and re-designed their claims model to provide a true end-to-end and award winning Claims Management Solution.

Claire joined Gallagher in September 2016 as HR Director for its wholesale broking, underwriting, reinsurance and corporate functions, serving as a strategic business partner to the divisional CEOs as well as being a member of the respective Executive leadership teams. During this period Claire also became the UK lead on Inclusion & Diversity, spearheading the development and rollout of the INCLUDE programme of education and awareness.

In September 2019, Claire was appointed overall HR Director of Gallagher’s UK-based broking and underwriting operations, which is made up of three trading divisions - UK Retail, Specialty & Wholesale and Pen Underwriting - joining the UK Executive Committee team.

With nearly 30 years’ experience in human resources and two decades at director level operating internationally across a diverse range of industries including manufacturing, life insurance, banking, food & drink and fast-growing entrepreneurial retail franchises, Claire’s role is to ensure the UK people strategy keeps pace with the business’ expansion and oversees the core teams dedicated to learning & development, reward, employee support and advice, and strategic business partnering to promote delivery against goals.

She has a wealth of experience in business and cultural transformation and associated employee engagement programmes; mergers & acquisitions, business integration and change management; as well as embedding succession planning and talent management to enable business resilience and growth.

Dave Giordano

Dave is the Chief Strategy Officer for Alfresco.  Dave was the former Founder and President of Technology Services Group (TSG), a Chicago technology consulting firm with 45+ ECM consultants that was acquired by Alfresco in March of 2020.  Previous to founding TSG in 1996, Dave worked for nine years for Accenture (Andersen Consulting).  
TSG was founded with the mission to provide deep content management resources and software across multiple industries.  TSG provided unique software offerings for insurance and particularly relevant in claims content management that have been embraced by Alfresco.  The Alfresco Enterprise Viewer is one of the innovative products that came from TSG that allows real-time collaborative annotation to documents, video and audio files.  The Alfresco Content Accelerator is a no-code configurable infrastructure that, when combined with the Alfresco Enterprise Viewer, provides a robust and efficient claims document management that has been successfully deployed at multiple large health, personal and workers compensation insurance clients.
Dave continues to be heavily involved in many active Alfresco clients, vendor partnerships and well as all R&D efforts.  Dave brings deep content management experience from multiple industries including financial services, life sciences, utilities, retail and manufacturing.  Dave is also currently a lead contributor to Alfresco’s insurance products and practice.
Dave is primary editor and author of the TSG Blog (http://www.tsgrp.com/blog/).  The Blog is very active within the ECM community and often quoted in other ECM articles.

Chris is the Managing Director of QuestGates the largest owner managed UK loss adjusting and claims specialist company and a Director of vrs the global loss adjusting organisation. He has nearly 40 years experience of claims handling and has worked for insurers, loss adjusters and outsourcing companies.

During his career he has led teams which have launched numerous innovative claims solutions including the first managed contractor network, out of hours call centre and outsourcing of entire claims operations as well as new approaches for the likes of Environmental claims, Complex Household and Claims Concierge services. Martin Miliner

Martin has over 30 year’s experience in General Insurance in various operational and technical roles, predominantly with LV= and Churchill/ RBS Insurance. During that time he was involved in a variety of issues including being heavily involved in the creation of the Credit Hire GTA.

In 2003 he became Claims Fraud Manager at RBS Insurance and was involved as a founder Board member of the Insurance Fraud Bureau.

In 2006 he joined LV = and is now Director of Claims, managing personal and commercial lines claims across the range of LV= Brands. He is a part of the General Insurance Exec Team at LV and as part of his role has executive accountability and line management responsibility for all matters fraud across Underwriting and Claims. Outside of LV= he is a member of the CII Claims Faculty Advisory Board, Thatchams Board and the Insurance Fraud Bureau Board.

Ajay Mistry ACMA is the Partnerships Director of Brokerbility, a network of Independent Insurance Brokers. He also founded Create Insurance (www.createinsurance.co.uk), a specialist brand for freelancers and small businesses in the creative industries.

Ajay, recently featured in the EMPower Global 100 Ethnic Minority Future Leaders List and in 2017,  co-founded iCAN (The Insurance Cultural Awareness Network) which is an industry-wide independent network that was set up to support multicultural inclusion and progression across the sector. Stephanie joined HDI from Lloyd’s of London where she took on the role of Oversight Manager, looking after 20 syndicates, with an combined GWP of £4bn. She joined Lloyd’s  just as they commenced the Decile 10 work, which provided an interesting challenge!

Stephanie joined the industry in 2008 on the Allianz management graduate scheme. She spent 10 years at the insurer in a variety of underwriting, claims and distribution roles, with her last role leading the Scottish office. 

In 2016 she was awarded Young Professional of the Year at the British Insurance Awards. 

In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys running and skiing.  She lives in Sussex with her husband. 

Laura Oliver

Laura joined Covéa Insurance in 2016 on the company’s Graduate Scheme, after graduating from Huddersfield University with a 1st in Criminology.  After successfully completing the graduate scheme, she joined the Home Claims department as a Team Leader, before moving into Talent Acquisition in September 2019.

Laura began her Talent Acquisition journey in Graduate Recruitment, and is now responsible for recruitment across the whole of Covéa’s Claims and Operations departments.  Her role covers volume recruitment right through to more experienced hires.  Laura also works closely with local schools and colleges developing and delivering employability sessions to help them hit their Gatsby benchmarks and to get their students ready for the world of work.

Prior to joining Innervate, I was a member of the Solution Architecture Office for Business Solutions at Microsoft, covering the EMEA region, where I was responsible for driving standards across projects and rolling out initiatives to the team of architects and consultants.

At Innervate, I am focused on the development of IP and driving value for business with IT solutions; being involved in both sales and delivery. I am experienced in consulting at all levels with our clients and building strategic partnerships with third-party organisations, whose products augment our solutions to deliver real value to the business. Amongst all else I have a burning desire for lifelong learning; enjoying the continual evolution of cloud and AI technologies. I also love to share my knowledge and experience with those who are keen to learn.

In my spare time, I like spending quality time with my family and enjoy keeping fit with cycling and running. I love gardening and I am very handy when it comes to DIY (another example of lifelong learning!), having practically built a whole house from start to finish.

Steve joined Verisk earlier this year as Head of Anti-Fraud Services for the UK and Europe.  Originally trained in the banking and finance sector, Steve has over 20 years’ experience delivering a range of automated decision support services across the insurance customer lifecycle including: shared databases, data analytics, risk evaluation and antifraud services.  Steve has previously held consultancy and strategic development roles at; Equifax, Experian, BAE Systems and most recently CRIF.

Donna Richards

Donna has been the CEO of Carpenters Group since February 2016. She first joined the business in 2015 as CFO having previously worked with the group as an external advisor for many years.

As Chief Executive, Donna leads the Board of Directors and has responsibility for the continued strategic growth, diversification, and management of the firm. She has worked with the team to develop Carpenters extensive range of services and in recent years overseen several acquisitions, organic growth and the opening of new offices, including a Scottish legal practice. As with the business, Donna has a very ethical approach to business which provides a sound base for continued growth and development.

Donna, a Chartered Accountant by profession, qualified in 1988. She was previously a partner at  BDO, Gruber Levinson Franks and also ran her own specialist practice dealing with  the legal sector for 13 years. She is a member of the ICAEW’s Solicitors Special Interest Group and has over 25 years’ experience of advising the legal sector in relation to strategic and financial matters.

Outside of the office, Donna is a wife, mum to three boys, has two grandsons and three dogs, all of which keep her busy. She is a passionate supporter of LFC and a keen gardener!

She is responsible for setting strategic vision and driving business growth across the =CEEMEA region of 40+ countries through the delivery of a wide portfolio of client solutions covering human capital and benefits, and corporate risk and broking. She brings a wealth of cultural knowledge and strategic experience, often in emerging markets, to her diverse management and revenue generating activities. Her recent responsibilities include leading and directing pre- and post-merger integration activities of Willis, Towers Watson and Gras Savoye entities across this broad geographic region. 

A lawyer by background, and a former General Counsel, Pamela has a wealth of global
M&A, legal, governance and compliance experience in the insurance industry. She chairs Willis Towers Watson’s International council on inclusion and diversity and is a director of a number of Willis Towers Watson entities, including Willis International Limited and Willis Europe BV. 

She is married, to a lawyer, with two children and cites cooking and sport as passions.

John Warburton









John Warburton, CEO, Konsileo

John Warburton has participated in the evolution of the insurance business model for over 20 years. He started in 1993 in Commercial Union (now Aviva) in Leicester and worked in Hong Kong and Beijing before returning to the UK to run a personal lines affinity business. In 1999 he started a "dot com" selling travel insurance online. Following an MBA at London Business School, John became a consultant and then joined Allianz in 2004. He fulfilled a number of senior roles in the UK business and moved to Munich in 2011 as the Director of Marketing responsible for driving Allianz's global Digital Business initiatives, reporting to the global CMO. He left Allianz in 2015 to start Konsileo, a disrupter model for commercial insurance broking.


Andy Warren

Andy has had a diverse career predominantly in  large operational and supply chain based roles with global giants such as Microsoft, IBM and for a number of years with The Walt Disney Company in California.

Having headed claims and supply chain at RSA Insurance for several years his wide reaching knowledge of claims embraces motor, injury,  property, pet, marine and commercial lines. Andy departed RSA in 2017 having had 16 years building a slick, forward thinking and profitable claims business. 

More recently Andy has built a new claims function at Ticker Insurance, the young driver and van driver telematics company that was founded by Insurance legend Richard King together with Gary Lineker. Andy works closely and advises industry technology leaders Audatex and is currently assisting the fast growing insurance consolidator, Atlanta,  with integration of their claims businesses Swinton, Carol Nash and Autonet. 

Andy is passionate about claims, serving the customer and embracing partnership with his supply chain contributors.
