David Hertzell
David Hertzell
David Hertzell began his legal career as a trainee solicitor with Davies Arnold Cooper in 1981, was admitted as a solicitor in 1983 and became a partner in 1989. He specialised in professional indemnity, reinsurance, captive insurance and regulatory issues. David is a member of the Law Society, the CII and the Managing Partners Forum. He is also a member of the BSI working group on risk management standards.
David Sandhu
David Sandhu
David Sandhu, Chief Executive, Ai Claims Solutions has spent all of his working life in the insurance market. He has worked in the claims teams of a number of insurers including Bishopsgate, GRE, AGF and Fortis. David joined Ai in October 2000 as the Director of Claims & Operations. He was made Managing Director in July 2005 and promoted to Chief Executive in July 2006.

Following a career in politics and financial services, Eddie led the management buyout of Norton Consulting 12 years ago. Since then he has established a reputation as one of the leading innovators in the motor claims and supply sectors. Under his leadership Norton has delivered over 370 development projects for insurers, motor manufacturers and suppliers in both the UK and Europe.

John Higgins
John joined AIG Europe (UK) Limited in 1992 as an adjuster in the casualty claims department and in 1999, became Employers Claims Liability Manager. In March 2007, John was promoted to personal injury claims manager for the UK. With nearly 20 years of experience in the industry, John is a member of the Civil Justice Council Clinical Negligence and Serious Injury Committee.

John Maitz
John Maitz
John is a Chartered Civil / Structural Engineer as well as a Chartered Loss Adjuster. He spent the last twenty years in the subsidence industry working for Consulting Engineers and Loss Adjusters before joining Zurich Insurance in January 2003 where he has the position of Subsidence Claims Manager. He has responsibility for technical standards, training and governance relating to subsidence . He is also immediate past chairman of the Subsidence Forum and a member of CILA’s special interest group on subsidence.

John Peysner
John Peysner
John Peysner joined Lincoln Law School from Nottingham Law School in 2006. He has over seventeen years’ experience in litigation practice. He has conducted research on case management, costs, civil procedural systems, consumer attitudes to solicitors’ services and testing in house against contracted legal services. He sat on the Lord Chancellor's Committee on Claims Assessors (The Blackwell Committee). He is a member of the Civil Justice Council.

Lee Gladwell
Lee Gladwell
Lee began his career in financial services with Commercial Union, leading a number of business areas across life and general insurance and running a change programme across the UK. He subsequently worked for NPI, Axa and Capita, and is currently group marketing and sales director at the Chartered Insurance Institute, where his responsibilities include corporate marketing, membership, sales and customer service.

Mark Richardson
Mark Richardson
Mark Richardson started working for Eagle Star as a Claims handler in 1972, which lead on to various roles in the Claims structure. Following the merger with Zurich Insurance in 1998, Mark became claims liaison manager, going on to be appointed governance manager. Mark is currently the UK General Insurance Technical and Operations claims director and is also a on the board of Insurance Database Services Ltd.

Peter Ashdown-Barr
Peter Ashdown-Barr
Peter founded and is the driving force behind InterResolve and its Bodily Injury Claims Scheme. He previously founded the InterMediation Group (now a subsidiary of the InterResolve Group). Peter also set up LawAlliance as a body to provide proportionate and independent legal advice for claimants and also created and ran the Claims Mediation Centre at Lloyd’s of London.

Richard Davies
Richard Davies
Richard Davies is a career commercial fraud investigator, and has experience of leading investigations in the investments, life, general and healthcare insurance sectors. He is currently employed by AXA UK as its fraud risk manager, working with senior management to identify and scale fraud risks, and to build strategic prevention and detection controls. Richard is a member of the Association of British Insurers Anti Fraud Committee.

Richard Ayton-Robinson
Richard Ayton-Robinson
A Chartered Building Surveyor, Chartered Loss Adjuster and Chartered Insurance Practitioner Richard joined the loss adjusting profession in 1985 following a career in the construction industry where he specialised in residential building surveys, building defects, maintenance and repair.

Richard has worked at Cunningham Lindsey since 1991 in various management roles. He was responsible for setting up and running the Contractor Management Division, and was previously Surveying Services Director.

Simon Hancox
Simon Hancox
Simon joined Commercial Union on its graduate training scheme in 1988 and spent 10 years at CU/CGU across all major departments. In 1999 Simon joined Axa Assistance to manage its motor and domestic emergency business. He joined Homeserve Claims Management (HCM) in 2001 as Managing Director responsible for domestic claims. HCM operations in Preston and Nottingham manage 800,000 and 90,000 domestic emergency and domestic permanent repair claims respectively per annum.
